Hey! Thanks for making informative videos. I'm watching plenty of them but a common thread I'm struggling with is more than half the video is introduction and then the actual instruction is brief and shown only once! I'd love to see the maneuver like 4 times at different speeds, then explained, then again at full speed. For example, the essence of this video seemed to be "foot forward, foot back" in 5 minutes. More details please!

I was that guy yesterday, broke my back axel and had no extra on the trip, so I had to walk back and get some parts and walk back to snowmobile and fix it 😄 Luckily I got a little lift from other riders 😂 Love the videos Dan, keep em coming.

any reason they have the upper idler wheels wider (like an axys) in the skid compared to the narrow wheels on the Matryx skid?

When the Thomas brothers first started teasing us with their skid I think I saw a carbon fiber rail...? is that design still in the works? I haven't looked at their website or social media pages in awhile.

Interesting choice of no anti-stab wheels. Fascinating that the really long torque arm design will provide enough lift that even when limit strapped as shown here theres still plenty of front skid load (likes to wheelie). Cool to see different skid designs, would be neat to feel how it rides differently.

Like your vids, and thank you for them. With that, sounds like a Klim advertisement. Their stuff is good, but way overpriced, and most moto riders think so as none of my friends use it for that reason. It's just stuff that gets trashed anyways. Gortex is good and all, but so are most of the other membrane brands, and it boils down to the dwr anyway. My buddy bought a $600 Klim adv helmet and it broke the first ride. He was jealous of my Euro brand equivelent that cost half. Anyway, just not into the overpriced brands selling the lifestyle. Plenty of killer gear out there, and I like to mix and match depending on the piece.

Very very helpful sir! I do not aspire to be a “pro” rider nor pursue a career in snowmobiling. I’m 46 years old and got into back country a few years ago. And you said it Dan. Its work! And it’s passionate people like you who help and I for one really appreciate it. The feeling of accomplishment while in the back country is what I do it for. The learning to ride all over again can be frustrating. But when you learn and make it happen learning techniques is all the satisfaction I need. Congratulations on all your hard work paying off, but I can see it’s all about the ride to you as well. That’s what gave you the drive to make it happen. Thanks for the video! I feel like I should address one apparent error in this video. The proper way to reinstall the P22 is to perform initial torque to 140 ft/lbs using a special "tool". The tool is simply a stronger bolt that doesn't have the taper by the threads and is available from Polaris. Once set, remove the tool and replace with the primary clutch bolt and torque to 110 ft/lbs. Highly recommend occasionally rechecking torque and hopefully the new bolt will take the frequent torquing. Polaris and it's ambassadors continue to downplay issues with the P22 and I understand it isn't happening or going to happen to everyone, but for those of use who have had their P22 fall off and/or explode in remote locations, this clutch is guilty until proven innocent.

I don’t think it’s “making such a big deal about” when those bolts are breaking all the time. It is an actual big deal when you’re in the backcountry. Take an extra bolt.....easy right.....but the majority of the time it breaks and leaves threads in the crank so a new bolt doesn’t do you any good anyways. The fact of the matter is, this is something we absolutely shouldn’t have to be worried about. And the worst part.....it’s happening year after year.

Had one of these last week. Losing the sidehill would have been loss of sled. Was scared but got it over and over again while sled skiing. It's hard sometimes not to get bucked off your sidehill. Any advice on how to catch it? More aggressive countersteer with anticipation?

Great video Dan. I think that clutch bolt should be torqued be for every ride. Even though they say it is from engaging and disengage 😊
